Samurai Sudoku

Play Samurai Sudoku free online: five overlapping 9x9 grids in one puzzle (Gattai-5). Fill every cell with 1-9 so each grid's rows, columns and 3x3 boxes have no repeats. Three tiers, undo, restart and a three-cell hint budget. No download, no sign-up.

Play Samurai Sudoku

Tap an empty cell to select it, then tap a digit on the keypad or type 1-9; Backspace, Delete or 0 clears the cell. Arrow keys move the selection between playable cells, skipping the gaps. A digit that repeats inside any of the grids containing that cell turns red, so you can check your work without a solver. Work the grids one at a time, but remember that the four shared 3x3 blocks belong to two grids at once — a value placed there must be legal in both. Undo steps back one entry, Restart reloads the puzzle, Hint reveals one correct cell (three per puzzle), and the arrow buttons move between puzzles inside a tier.

Objective: Fill every empty cell with a digit from 1 to 9 so that each of the five overlapping 9x9 grids has no repeated digit in any row, column or 3x3 box. The five grids are the centre grid plus four corner grids, and the four corner grids each share a 3x3 block with the centre grid, so those shared cells must satisfy both grids at once. The puzzle is solved when all five grids are valid. There are three puzzles per tier — easy, medium and hard — and each one was verified to have exactly one solution before it shipped. Controls: Tap an empty cell (mouse, touch or pen, all handled as one tap) to select it, then tap a digit on the keypad or type 1-9; tap X or press Backspace to clear. Arrow keys move the selection, skipping gaps. Buttons: tier (easy / medium / hard), previous / next puzzle, Undo, Hint, Restart. The HUD shows the tier, which puzzle you are on, how many cells are filled and how many hints are left. Keyboard and touch follow the same code path.

Samurai Sudoku (Gattai-5) is the classic five-grid overlapping variant: the mechanic has no single author, so this build is written from scratch by Playnesta with no byte-reused upstream files. The layout engine, the rendering and the shell are Playnesta-original (MIT, see LICENSE.txt). The puzzle library reuses the generator and solver of the site's own Sudoku build, which is based on EduardoProfe666/sudoku-play @ 8fa0cbe (MIT, Copyright Eduardo Profe) — the engine files are byte-identical to that pin and are recorded in NOTICE.md; only the samurai layout, the five-grid coordination and the frozen puzzles are Playnesta-original.
