Play Checkers online, Playnesta's classic 8x8 draughts board against a minimax AI. You play blue and move first: step diagonally, jump to capture (captures are forced), chain multi-jumps, and crown a king on the far rank. The AI searches every reply three moves deep and answers in milliseconds. Free in your browser, no download.
Play Checkers
You play the 12 blue men on the bottom three rows and you always move first. Tap one of your pieces to see its legal landings glow, then tap a glowing square to move there. A man steps one square diagonally forward; if a red piece sits next to it with an empty square behind, you jump over and capture it. Captures are forced: when any capture exists the board only offers capture landings. After a capture, if the same piece can capture again your turn continues and you keep jumping until no capture is left, then the red AI replies automatically. A man that reaches the far rank crowns into a king (marked with a crown) and then moves and captures one square on all four diagonals. The round ends the moment the side to move has no legal move, and that side loses; a lone king against a lone king and a threefold repeated position are draws. The move list beside the board records every move in algebraic notation with capture counts. The New game button deals a fresh round in place.

Step a man one square diagonally forward, jump an adjacent red piece to capture it, keep jumping while captures continue, and reach the far rank to crown a king that moves all four diagonals. The round ends when one side has no legal move. Controls: Tap or click one of your blue pieces, then tap or click a glowing square to move there. Buttons: New game (top bar and side panel, restarts the round in place). No keyboard needed; works with mouse and touch.

Source and license
Self-hosted build of English draughts with a minimax AI from the MIT-licensed Checkers-AI by Valencinn and contributors (commit 743263a): the five engine modules (board, game, moves, ai, piece) ship byte-identical to the pinned commit. The page shell, responsive stage fit, analytics bridge and touch shim are Playnesta-original; the single Google Fonts import in the upstream stylesheet was replaced with a system font stack so the page makes zero network requests.
